chasing the sun

diary entry 3.30.13

the past 2 days, it's seemed like summer. i am sitting outside right now, at 8:30 in the morning, lemon juice in my hair, listening to the birds chirp. it feels like i'm the only one awake in the world. it reminds me of those early mornings when you go camping. the sun is low in the sky and the shadows are long. you have to move every 5 minutes to stay in the sun because it's moving so fast. the sun is weak though, you can barely feel in on your face, even when you turn your face toward it. in a few hours, minutes, seconds even, the world will start coming alive, cars will be heard in the distance, people on walks will stroll by, but i, i will not move from my place. i will watch the world move around me and without me. maybe then i will be able to understand how this earth we live on works.
