Don't take it for granted

I finished my summer diary on the 28th. As I look back, I see everything I've been through this summer. We always say summer is short. It's true. But when I see how much I've grown in these measly two months, I realize it doesn't matter how long summer is, as long as you use it. Not taking things for granted. The book Watership Down (amazing book, go read it) talks about how we take the sun for granted, but not the moon. Everyday the sun rises. Even if it's behind a thick layer of clouds, we can still see the light it pours down. The moon is inconsistent. It is not always there to cast shadows. We notice things that come and go and use them when they are here, but as long as simething is constant, we ignore the wonderful things it give to us. We don't take summer for granted because its not always here. This summer, things happened that I never would have imagined. Don't take things for granted. Breathe in each moment, no matter how normal they seem. Someday they may not be normal.

Love, savannah
